Mercury Prize 2009 - Nominations announced
QTheMusic.com and a couple of the Q Magazine team offered their tips ahead of the nominations announcement which we published as they came in aswell as the bookies odds-on favourite. Bat For Lashes and Florence and the Machine better watch out, next month's Q cover stars Kasabian have already tipped themselves to win, modest guys!
Q Exclusive - Regina Spektor
Q has two Regina exclusives this week! Firstly a video interview with the quirkily off-beat songstress that has been compared to a cross between Joni Mitchell and Bjork in which she talks about her songwriting, the process, where the ideas come from, and returning to her native Russia after agrowing up in New York. Secondly, we have an exclusive Q Twittercomp to win her last 4 albums..
Current Issue: Michael Jackson
Planned and printed ahead of his comeback tour, the new issue takes a close look at the world, work and life of Michael Jackson, which tragically ended as the magazine was being distributed, making some of the observations in the feature seem eerily prophetic. View the cover, read Editor Paul Rees' statement about the issue and please avoid the online touts.
Thomas Dybdahl's - Top 10 Playlist
Norwegian Thomas Dybdahl is already something of an established artist in his homeland, now he's heading towards our shores with an EP and a full length album due later in the year. Often compared to Tim Buckley and Nick Drake he's in good company, fans of Iron And Wine should check him out too... In our Q Exclusive playlist he's picked his Top 10 Scandinavian artists, spotify users can click to hear most of them on the playlist directly as you read! Thomas Dybdahl's Top 10 Playlist
