So which albums are you most looking forward to hearing this year? LCD Soundsystem's 'final' release? Kate Nash's "seagull and groupie influenced" second effort? The return of harp-tastic singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom?

To show you what's coming your way, we've picked out the 50 albums you need to hear in 2010 - and if you can't wait for these records to come out, Jamie Fullerton has trawled the net for songs you can hear right now, including intriguing works-in-progress from Laura Marling, MGMT and Klaxons.

Plus, as ever, there's more free music - including tracks from the likes of These New Puritans, Lightspeed Champion, The Knife and the frankly astonishing Memory Tapes - over on Tim Chester's Daily Download blog.

Have a good weekend.

Radar: the best new music of the week - first
Hounds Of Hate Hounds Of Hate Hounds Of Hate is a right funny sausage called Stan. He makes really beaty, tottering hip-house that has this unnerving, off-kilter air hanging around it like a bad smell. It's great stuff, but it's almost like it's challenging you to get down to it despite the waft of weirdness.

Head over to Radar to download a free track, 'Head Anthem'.
