Where were you when you heard the news? Most of the NME team were at Glastonbury (watching East 17, of all things) when the texts started flooding in. We immediately raced back to the press area to report the story and pay tribute - having first ascertained that, yes, Michael Jackson really had died, and it wasn't one of those campsite rumours that always circulate at Glastonbury.

Tributes have been pouring in. You can keep on top of the story as it unfolds at NME.COM/artists/michael-jackson. We've also put together photo and video tributes to the pop star, who died of a heart attack on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Glastonbury continues - Emily Eavis has promised a weekend of tributes to the star at the festival. And we'll be reporting it all, posting news, blogs and video until late into the night - and we'll be producing the biggest Glastonbury photo gallery you'll find anywhere.
